starting my day with gratitudes just automatically puts me in a positive mind frame. If I'm already thinking about being grateful for all the things that I have all the things that are around me or the people around me, even the little things that automatically shifts my mindset

Jeanette Peterson 0:32

you're listening to the unapologetically unstoppable podcast. It's about going deep into who you are made to be. And following that, no matter what, where your calling is in the front seat, and fear, well, it's trying to stop you. But fuck that guy, and getting the tools and tips to become unstoppable. I'm your host, Jeanette Peterson, where not too long ago, I had to find my calling. Here you'll hear from me and other online experts on how to discover your calling, the steps to make it happen and how to monetize it. I believe when we're unapologetic about our calling, we become an unstoppable expansive force. So let's get started.

Jeanette Peterson 1:39

Hey, girl, hey, I've got like some kind of nasally thing. So sorry about that in advance. Okay. So me and Alison are going through what our movement is. Okay, so I'm gonna read it to you. And then I'm just gonna break down part of it. Because I think that anybody who has business like they say, like, you need to have a personal brand, blah, blah, blah. But what what is that actually like? What are you representing? What is your purpose? Like? What is your WHY like all these like deep questions that you need to like go inward for and like really unpack? So Alison and I have been doing that for quite some time. And we finally came up with something that feels good to both of us. This is it ready? We believe in redefining the American dream. It is now measured by gratitude, desires and deep connection you bring to your life. We aim to break down comparison and burnout culture. We all always created by looking outside of ourselves for approval instead of leading with our intuition. We are pioneering a new way of being we realize that authenticity and protecting our time and energy are key ingredients for sustainable success and embodying our full potential. Are you unapologetically unstoppable?

Jeanette Peterson 2:57

Oh, boy, yeah, girl. Yeah, yeah. Okay, so we love to talk about the first part, we believe in redefining the American dream. So what does that for you? Like, for me, personally, I'm not gonna speak for Allison, because hers is slightly different than mine. I believe that time is currency. Not money. Money is cool at all. But if I don't have the time to spend with the people I need to, I don't care how much money I got. That's not important. Money is just a tool. I believe in really curating good relationships with people. I really want to be able to be the one that my kids are influenced by. Isn't that I want to control what they are getting, but kind of Yes, I don't. There's certain things they don't want to see. I want to protect them. They are my children. I want to protect them. And I want to redefine what success looks like for me. Because for me, what do you see are the American dream. It is white picket fence 2.5 kids two cars in the burbs? The man goes to work and the wife cooks and cleans that is not at all my version of success. Or the American dream. That's not what I want for my life and for my my people, my my like my family, my family. So our version is deep connection with God. Learning constantly being around our family as much as we can. Living debt free.

Jeanette Peterson 4:54

And time is our currency and spending time with those we love doing the things that we love. If I was being joyful like leading from a joyful heart, I hate thinking that we have to not do that. So I don't want to do that. So that's our the Pearson family's definition of the American dream. And the next line says it's now measured by gratitude desires in deep connection. So every day in my stories on the grams, I start with my gratitude, except for Sundays. And sometimes I Saturdays, because I'm with my family. And like I said, Time is my my currency. So that's more important to me than hanging out with you guys know of it. So like, starting my day with gratitude just automatically puts me in a positive mind frame. If I'm already thinking about being grateful for all the things that I have all the things that are around me, all the people around me, even the little things that automatically shifts my mindset. I suffer from depression and anxiety. And if I am constantly living in the space of anxiousness and nervousness, and lack, than I can't be grateful for the things I have. Because in all honesty, we are so rich in America to even think that you are listening to this podcast, you are richer than most of America. So to think that you don't have enough, is ludicrous. It's just ludicrous.

Jeanette Peterson 6:33

You have so much abundance. Now, if you're not using it, right. If you're not using the tools you have correctly, that's a huge thing. But be thankful, so thankful, I am so grateful that I live in America, where we are theoretically free, let's we all know is not actually free. Let's go I'm not going into that. But we are theoretically free. I, as a black woman can own a business and make a podcast, you're listening to it right now. And nobody's telling me I can't or is taxing me for doing this or is like at my front door, banging it down. None of those things are happening. And I love that. So I'm so grateful every single day for the little things. I don't have to be grateful because the check shows up in the mail, which sometimes it does. But I'm also grateful for just like, being able to be around my kids and hug and kiss them, man. See, my husband often be able to like have him cook me dinner, I'm so grateful for that. And then we didn't go to the store and buy food and one it's not out and two, we have the money in the bank to do that. I don't have to walk to go get food. I have a car. And I could complain about what type of car it is how long we've had all the all the things right? But why? Why complain? I just want to live in a heart of gratefulness. Because that's what I know that abundance is coming that God has my back. And then as long as I know that I'm grateful for the things he gives me, I can be a good steward of those things. And He will bless me with more. So I can also steward them well. And the next one is now measured by gratitude and desires.

Jeanette Peterson 8:38

So I feel like God will give you anything you want. And you ask for and you dream for him. But I also feel like once you start to seek His kingdom and like, act differently, your desires are different to right. So one of my deep desires is to tie the million dollars. I don't know if that means I'm going to make $10 million in a year. Or if that means I'm going to become a reverse tither which means I give 90 and I live on 10% of our income, which would also be fine for me because I feel like if I'm typing a million dollars, I have more than enough money to live on. You know what I mean? Like, do I really need a million dollars to live on? No, I want to be one of those people who just gives money away. Because it makes me feel good. Because that's that's how I want to live life by feeling good about the things that I'm doing. And those are the kinds of desires that I have. I desire to fund an orphanage. My husband desires to make a car rally because he loves cars but also to be philanthropic and donate all that money to charity. He wants to create a foundation So I believe once we start moving in line with gratitude and love and heart posture, our desires become gratitude and love and heart posture. And that's where we get to have those deep connections with people because then they see our real true colors, our heart. And they're like, Yo, that girl, she hits different I don't know, I don't know about her, she hits different, there's something about her she has different and then want to get to know you on a real soul level.

Jeanette Peterson:

Sometimes I feel these connections with people that I have never met, and I would feel this like connection with their soul. Like, like Soul recognition. That's what I used to call it when I was a kid. And I feel that I'm getting that even more now. Maybe it's because the internet and I mean, so many different people, I don't know. But sometimes you just feel that soul connection with somebody. And I know that I'm like, deeply connected with somebody, and then we can talk and it's like, you known them forever. It's like you've always loved them. It's like they've always loved you. Sometimes I forget that I haven't actually known them for that long, if that makes sense. I have a friend like that. Now that sometimes I forget. I'm like, oh wait,

Jeanette Peterson:

you don't actually know me know me. Like I feel like we already know each other know each other. But like, sometimes we forget you don't know we know me. I haven't actually said that to her. But like I just once I feel connected to somebody, I just feel so connected. And that's what I want. That's part of my American dream is gratitude is soul desires and those deep soul recognition connections.
